It follows a thorough review of our services, strategy, technology and financial performance by the journalists and experts of The Banker, a publication of the Financial Times Group. The jury focused on the roll-out of our bank’s new commercial organisation, the rapid development of our Easy Banking app for a better customer experience and the strong growth we are achieving in payment solutions, for example in transaction banking for SMEs and corporates.

“Congratulations to BNP Paribas Fortis for its outstanding performance to win the Bank of the Year Award for Belgium,” said Joy Macknight, editor of The Banker. “Its strategic initiative started in 2022 by developing a new commercial organisation focused on value for money and accessibility. The new model allows customers to easily select their service channel of choice and the right service level tailored to their specific needs. The bank has already seen a jump in its net promoter scores. In addition, sustainability criteria remain a key focus in all aspects of BNP Paribas Fortis’s service.”

CEO Michael Anseeuw: “I am very pleased that we have been named ‘Bank of the Year’ in Belgium. This award once again underlines our leading position in banking and insurance. I see it as the crowning achievement of all the hard work done by my colleagues in the bank over the past year. It is also a tribute to all our clients who have shown their unwavering confidence in BNP Paribas Fortis. We will continue to serve them.

In all circumstances, our mission is to provide our private and corporate clients with the best possible financing, advice and payment solutions. We want to do this in the most accessible way possible.

Fast, comprehensive and 24/7 service is also central to our customer experience. Customer appreciation of our Easy Banking App, which we are developing into a hub with a wide range of innovative digital banking solutions, shows that we have made strong progress in this area. Finally, we all face significant sustainability challenges. BNP Paribas Fortis wants to continue to play a key role for its clients in accelerating and facilitating the necessary transitions.”

We are ready with our technology and our people to address all these challenges in the coming months and years.
